In loving memory of Shaun Locklear
Donation protected
November 4th, 2023 was a normal day for Erica and Shaun Locklear and their 3 children (Laiken age 15, Kieren age 10, and Zadie age 2). Erica and Shaun both worked and then headed to a friend’s home to visit after work. Since they had driven separately, Shaun left first to head home and Erica left soon after. As Erica was driving home, she saw clouds of dust in the road and then to her horror, saw her husband’s car flipped upside down on the side of the road. Panicked, Erica immediately pulled over and rushed to aid her husband who was pinned in his vehicle. After calling 911, she tried to rescue Shaun from the burning car, sustaining 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her hands. Shaun was rushed to the hospital where he was put on life support. Although Shaun was a fighter, he had struggled with auto immune disorders for years. Combined with his extensive bodily and head injuries from the car accident, it was too much for his body to bear and on November 5th, 2023, Shaun Locklear left this world to meet his loving Lord and savior.
This tragedy has rocked the Locklear family. Anyone who knew Shaun knew he was a hard worker and a man who valued his family above all. Although he struggled with health issues, he was well known for his bright personality and infectious laugh. He was an avid prankster and he had a way of making even the most serious person smile. The children are grief stricken and struggling with the loss of their beloved father. Erica, now widowed with three young children after being with the love of her life for 20 years, has also battled chronic health issues herself and must undergo major surgery in December for issues unrelated to the car accident. Although she has the support of her family and friends, she needs support from the community to assist with medical bills, time out of work, and college funding for the kids. If you feel led to contribute, please donate…if you cannot donate, please pray for this beautiful family as they try to recover from this devastating loss. This time of year is especially hard as they navigate the holiday season without Shaun.
