Mike Smith Seeking Urgent Medical Attention

Today, I'm asking for your support of Mike Smith, a U.S. Navy veteran in Northern Virginia facing a lifesaving heart transplant. Most recently, Mike served in Afghanistan in an intelligence role.

After years of good health and an active lifestyle, Mike suffered a major heart attack about two months ago.

In the course of follow-up, Mike's doctors discovered that his heart is rapidly failing and he will soon die without a heart transplant.

Fortunately, Mike has been approved for a transplant and is on the waitlist.

And while Mike has good health insurance, there are still a ton of out-of-pocket costs.

Among these costs are adaptive modifications that will allow him to return home.

Additionally, he will be out of work until at least June, and his spouse has quit work to care for him.

UPDATE: Mike obtained the heart transplant surgery on November 30th and now is within the 6th month recovery process. It is crucial Mike obtains a healthy and speedy recovery over the course of this time, without the stress of financial loss.
