Lawyer & Court Fees

Hi, guys! This is Jalen and I before we got arrested this past weekend on, May 30th, in Fort Wayne, IN. I am a student that just graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University as a Social Worker and Jalen is on his way to become an Electrician. We were in FW on a little getaway to spend time with each other for the weekend, however, our weekend was cut short. We were reading a book, Relationship Goals by Michael Todd just before we decided to go on a walk to debrief the chapter we had just read. On our walk, we encountered the heart of FW. We came in contact with tear gas, however, we didn't know what was happening. We walked around and observed from afar for about 40 minutes. Just as we were heading back to our Airbnb a big black truck pulls out in front of us and a small group of people nearby; they yelled, "disperse, go home!" So we started running because we were scared. As we turn around another truck comes around the corner, they start running towards us yelling, "get down on the ground! Hands where I can see them!" We were so confused, we barely took 10 steps. Before they had us down on the ground, Jalen and I could clearly see an officer having an encounter with a white man. He had him by the shoulder, took a quick look at him, and proceeded to say, "leave, go home, don't come back here!" This broke my heart, I was furious, they looked ahead at a black man and a brown woman and decided that we were up to no good. Before we knew it we were in zip ties sitting in the back of a police car, wrongfully arrested. There is more to our story and you will hear it very soon. We are asking for funds for our lawyer and court fees, any amount is appreciated. Our court date is in two weeks; we would like to reach our goal before the end of next week. If you are unable to donate at this time, prayers are appreciated as well! Whatever money we do not use we are donating it to any organization/charity towards the Black Lives Matter movement.
