Let My Voice Be Heard.
Let my voice be heard!!! I'm a 28year old single unemployed mother of 3 kids, Mariyah(10) Joniyah (8) and Angel (4) years old. From a small city called Pahokee where poverty does exist. On January 9, 2017 my apartment was burned down at 10:30 am... Everything I had was now destroyed as you can see in the photo. My family and I were out in the cold after the fire was tamed and waiting hopeless for the red Cross. While waiting and praying patiently for almost 2hrs the red Cross finally arrived, it was a bittersweet moment because the help was there but they could not do much. The wanted to go inside the apartment to do a walkthrough, but my key did not work. I could not access my apartment, the locks had been changed by the pahokee housing authority. Right then and there my heart dropped tears began to fall My kids and I felt abandoned, neglected left out in the cold air. Thankful that red Cross gave me and my family lodging assistance we quickly found a hotel and got food, said a prayer and that was our night. No other help was given that day or the next. My family is basically on our on so please help us start over. Thanks Mary, single mother of 3.
