Peace of Mind

The short version is that my brother, Kenn Day, is on a journey that we hope will restore his vision in his left eye. As an artist and holistic practitioner, losing sight is unimaginable.
The longer version is that what started as a detached retina has been complicated by ocular pressure from a hemorrhage. The process to try to restore his vision involves multiple surgeries and weeks - possibly months - of inactivity to prevent the pressure from increasing again. Inactivity means Kenn will not be able to work. Eye drops administered every three hours, and driving Kenn to post-op appointments, also impacts Patricia's availability to work. Since both are self-employed, this adds more stress to this challenging situation.
We’re taking this journey one day at a time. All prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated. We're trying to be positive and upbeat, while also knowing that Kenn may not regain his sight in his left eye.
How much of the cost of surgery will be covered by their insurance is unknown at this point. Although they followed the process required by their insurance provider - called the nurse practitioner, who advised him to go to the emergency room - the ER sent him to Cincinnati Eye Institute, which they later learned is out-of-network for their insurance.
We know that bills will arrive and we will deal with insurance and bills in due time. In the meantime, our focus is on Kenn's peace of mind while having to rest, face down, 45 of every 60 minutes, until further notice.
If you would like to help financially, this is also greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me directly if you would like to contribute off line.
