***Update: Last update for a while! You can also donate through other means than GoFundMe, and I will add it to the total manually! This avoids GoFundMe's fees! Contact me through facebook! (Sorry, I'm just figuring out how all this works.)

***Update: Wonderful news! An anonymous donor has agreed to match every donation $15 or more made in the next 3 weeks up to a total of $1000! One February 8th they'll match donation all $15+ dollar donations. Thank you to those who have donated and shared, and massive thanks to the donor helping make this happen. This is big! If you have already donated, and want to raise a donation of five or ten to $15, it will be matched by the beneficiary! If not, no problem, and all donations of any amount help! We're still far from raising the total amount, and everything helps!

***Update: Thank you so much to everyone who's sponsored Haidyn so far! She's found out, and is completely overwhelmed by the love and support. As am I! I'm so humbled, its is changing the way I think about generosity. So everyone knows, I'll be posting updates on everything here. In addition, GoFundMe will be a way to connect back to you amazing people so she can share accounts of her experiences. If she's able to go. All our fingers are crossed. Prayers have been sent. It will be your small donations that make it possible. Thank you so much. If you have friend or family that might want to donate, please share this link: https://www.gofundme.com/38z5fl4

**This campaign was started by her loved ones, on her behalf.** :)

Haidyn Harvey is an amazing young woman, studying Film Studies and Non-Profit Management at Pepperdine University, and is an up-and-coming film activist and film maker! Late last year, Haidyn applied and was accepted into a prestigious internship at the Cannes Film Festival, the biggest in the world. Through this opportunity, she's been invited to France to intern at a talent agency and attend the Festival. Haidyn plans to attend the many talks with the famous writers and director who come. She also will get to screen a short film to an international audience, which she is writing and producing this semester.

Haidyn was overjoyed to have gotten the internship, but devastated that she may not be able to attend. She sought scholarships, and contacted the Denver Post about exchanging sponsorship for writing about Cannes. Unfortunately, she's unable to muster up anything to help offset the cost. The $3700 covers the costs of travel, of attending the festival, and the fees of the company who facilitates the internships.

The internship is through The American Pavilion. It's their "Cannes Film and Business Program". One of her film professors has a connection with the internship and recommended Haidyn to them. After seeing her resume, she was swiftly accepted.

A brief description of Haidyn and the Cannes Festival can be found bellow. For those of you who know Haidyn, and know the passion and delightful energy she brings to her hard work, thank you for helping support her endeavors. Cannes will give her real experience and relationships to pursue her dreams. Anything helps. It would mean the absolute world to her to be able to attend.

Thank you for your support! Please share this campaign with friends and family who might want to support Haidyn's journey!

Once a year, the biggest names in the film industry assemble in Cannes, France to screen and distribute their newest projects. Films such as Sicario, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Usual Suspects, and Spielberg's The BFG went to Cannes on their way to worldwide distribution. Directors, producers, cinematographers, casting agencies, and production companies convene to sell their films or collaborate on future ones.

Interns from past years have gotten jobs directly out of the internship, at casting agencies, international distribution companies, and production companies.

Haidyn has been in the film industry since high school. She began working in front of the camera while living in Denver, and graduated a year early from high school to move to Los Angeles. She won "Best Breakout Performance" in the First Glance Film Festival for her lead role in Ribbons, a feature length indie film. Since coming to college, Haidyn has been honing her skills behind the camera by writing, producing, and directing her own short films. She also writes in the arts page of the Pepperdine "Graphic", writes and hosts a web series called "Literary Film", and interns at an LA talent agency.

Haidyn is also minoring in non-profit management. When she was in 10th grade, she created and managed her own non-profit/charity called “Give Hope A Chance”, supporting the education of children in Sudan and Uganda. This girl is pretty amazing. Someday, she hopes to combine her interests and make films for non-profits about international social and civil rights issues.

Other things to love about Haidyn? She’s fun-loving, adventure seeking girl living in LA, missing her home in the Rocky Mountains, who loves diners, oatmeal, Led Zeppelin, road-trips, humans of New York, her parents, stories, and the movie It’s A Wonderful Life. Her favorite film makers are the Coen brother and Alejandro Iñárritu.
