Hello, my name is Kathy. I am a mom (to 1 tween and 2 teenager girls), a wife to Danny (18yrs and counting) and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Logos International school located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
I love teaching children, but also one of my passions is is in the area of women's and family ministry. I would love to bring this material back to Cambodia to use encourage and teach women in Cambodia about how to live a gospel centered life.
My friend posted on facebook about the Gospel Coalition Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana in June 2016. Normally- I would dismiss this and just move on feeling that it would be impossible for me to go. But for some reason--I kept thinking about it and something in me said, "Kathy, you're supposed to go to this." I thought to myself- that is crazy. It will cost so much money. But for some reason--I wanted to dream--and so here I am.
God is already moving mountains- TGC has already offered me free registration,a friend has given me money towards airfare, and a stranger going to the conference read my facebook post on the TGC facebook page and offered if I wanted to share her hotel room at the Westin Hotel. (Nice!)
$2000 will go towards airfare ($1300-1500 depending on when I book), transport (taxi, shuttles),
meals for the duration of my time (1 week of traveling) and also materials/podcasts/books that I can purchase in order to teach this material in Cambodia. I would like to have the funds by November 30. That way I can book my ticket at the lowest possible price and that would give a one month period of active fundraising.
So I stand here before you....asking.Please know..
I really hate asking for money. It's the most uncomfortable thing for me. If I could--- I would just pay for it out of my own pocket. This asking business is so humbling and hard. But God is asking me to depend on Him. Thank you for listening..
P.S. If anyone can use this as a year-end tax break...I will look into how this can be a charitable donation...
