Face Shields for Frontline Workers
COVID-19 is hitting hospitals and leaving healthcare workers with shortages of Personal Protective Equipments, such as face shields, leaving medical professionals protecting community health susceptible.
Kuriosity Robotics, a high school robotics team, was inspired by the face shield effort started by Maker Nexus . With this, we designed and are manufacturing our own face shield that is lightweight, easy, and fast to make from material that can be found locally. Our goal is to make 5000+ face shield for hospitals and our front line workers in our Bay Area during this pandemic! Currently we've made and donated over 4317 face shields!
Donations to this initiative will go towards filament, printers, transparency plastic, elastic bands and other supply to make the shields. With enough donations, we'll buy all the equipment and materials we need to exponentially ramp up production and diversify our efforts to ensure hospitals, nursing homes, and essential businesses can get all the help they need. Each face shield is estimated to be >$2 each in only material costs.
We are printing and assembling 100+ face shields / day and delivery them to hospitals, emergency rooms, nursing homes. The demand is very high, your donation will keep our effort going and make a real difference during this pandemic!
We're also exploring to expand our system and replicate our process with other partners in the Houston area to support local hospitals and frontline workers there. Organizations from other parts of the world in need of face shields are also being shipped some.
Thank you so much! Stay Safe!

About Us
We are Kuriosity Robotics, a community robotics team and nonprofit based in Palo Alto, California comprised of high schoolers. We strive to tackle the diversity problem in the STEM field and bring robotics to the underserved, through many outreach initiatives such as SmartGurlz and international efforts (read about them at our website) and we are currently focused on producing face shields for hospitals and other people on the front lines. During the robotics competition season, we build a high-performing robot and were NorCal Champions for the 2019-20 season, qualifying to Worlds, and also held the California point record.
