Fred & Nisi

Hi there. Thank you to all who have reached out and shown love, support & have prayed for Nisi and the family after learning of Fred’s unexpected passing. Fred’s passing has been a huge loss to not just us, but the communities in which he gave back to over the years- mainly in Syracsue but also here in Florida.

As many of you know, but for those that don’t, Fred had made it through the initial surgery and rehab for his back but other health issues arose. Nisi and Fred, with your previous help, were hanging in there and making the ends meet over the past few months, even with Fred still not back to work. However, heart issues, in addition to a recent 2nd surgery in which more screws were needed, presented themselves over the past week as he was working to make a full recovery. While going through a normal procedure to put stints in where needed, it was unsuccessful and Fred has unexpectedly passed away.

We are not sure what the future looks like moving forward but if you feel led to help Nisi navigate through these next few months- everything and anything is greatly appreciated, whether a financial donation, an outreach of love & support or prayers.

At this time, we are navigating how to celebrate his life here in Florida but their friends/family in Syracuse, NY are planning a celebration for him in true Fred fashion - through a pickup basketball game next Friday, 7/21/23! A huge thank you to two of my work family/friends who already sent money unexpectedly- that went immediately to helping us purchase Nisi’s ticket to go. And a huge thank you to her circle of sister/friends that will be there for her while she is there.

I share this GoFund Me for Nisi, for those who have been asking what can they do. While it is so uncomfortable to ask, it will help tremendously through her transition to this new norm with no Fred. It will allow her time to grieve & get her strength back to navigate what comes next.
