Save Champ’s Life

Please help save this gorgeous teddy bear of a boy from being put down.

I’m desperately reaching out to raise funds to save Champ - my friend, Simone’s, rescue dog.

Champ is a 5yo ‘Shichon’ (a Shih Tzu/ Bichon Frise mix) & he is the best friend of Zak, Simone’s 10yo son.

Champ has, without warning, suddenly lost the use of his back legs and the ability to toilet independently. The vet advised this could be due to a tumour, a ruptured disc or meningitis.

Although Simone has pet insurance, this is limited to a £2,000 payment per ailment.

After examination & several tests, the vet now believes that Champ has IVDD - a degenerative disease of the discs in his spine.

Champ has received medication, physio and acupuncture which have temporarily relieved his pain and given him a slight relief from his symptoms. However, the tests & treatment have also used £1,000 of the insurance payment and over £800 of Simone’s wages.

As a young widow, this is money Simone desperately needs to support Zak & herself.

The only treatment option left to save Champ from being put to sleep is

-an MRI scan to assess the extent of the damage (£3,500)

-for Champ to then undergo surgery to remove the disc(s) pressing on his spinal cord (a further £4,500).

Champ will then require physio to boost his recovery.

Champ is a young, fit, happy dog with a family who love him deeply. Both Zak & Simone have already suffered much loss and want to do everything they can to give Champ a fighting chance. Unfortunately, the costs involved make the option of treatment impossible for them without your help.

Please, please give what you can to fund Champ’s treatment. I understand money is tight for so many people right now but every single donation will help to chip away at this massive amount and save Champ from being needlessly put to sleep.
