The Clay family is in financial need during this new transition in their lives. Sean and Chelsea welcomed triplet boys back on August 11. They were born premature at only 28 weeks. Logan Kane born at 12:34pm, weighed 2lbs 14oz, Gavin Carter born at 12:34pm, weighed 2lbs 14.9oz, and Nolan Ryan born at 12:35pm, weighed 1lb 13oz. The boys joined 4 big sisters, Shelby (12), Amira (11), Peyton (8), and Isabelle (4). When the boys were born, they were in the NICU for 3 months. Chelsea and Sean traveled every day to Atlanta to be with boys while trying to take care of the girls back home. With all the traveling and doctor’s appointments, Chelsea is no longer able to work and has lost her income. Sean works very hard and is trying his best to support his family, but times have gotten hard and need all the help they can get. Thank you!
Sean and Chelsea’s Story…
Sean has 2 daughters from previous relationships, Amira (11) and Isabelle (4). Chelsea has 2 daughters from previous relationships, Shelby (12) and Peyton (8). Sean and Chelsea met through their oldest daughters when they were in the second grade. They were both chaperones on a school field trip to the Atlanta Zoo. They had a strong connection, but the timing was not right. A couple years later, they reconnected and fell madly in love. They got married on April 21, 2018, and they were now a happy family of 6. Chelsea and Sean were ready to add to their family, especially for a boy. Soon, they found out they were pregnant in June 2018 but unfortunately, Chelsea had a miscarriage at 13 weeks. After a couple of months, they were ready to try again and on March 28, 2019, she went to the doctor to confirm a positive pregnancy test and they were in shock to find out there was not 1 baby but there were 3! It was also confirmed, that 2 were identical and one fraternal. On May 22, they were so happy to find out they were all boys. Chelsea had to see a high-risk specialist every other week to keep an eye on the triplets. On June 19, the doctor noticed baby “c”, one of the identical twins was significantly small than the other 2. Shortly, Chelsea got a call from a doctor in Houston, TX, saying she needs to get there as soon as possible because the twins have a condition called twin to twin transfusion. Chelsea got on a plane that night to have an emergency procedure done to help separate the twins. The doctor performing the procedure wanted to do a fetal reduction instead of the procedure because of the potential problems associated with the procedure. Chelsea denied, wanting all 3 babies to have a fighting chance. The procedure was successful, and Chelsea was sent home and put on light bed rest. Shortly after the procedure, Chelsea developed contractions, which was a potential problem associated with the procedure and was put on strict bed rest. On August 7, Chelsea was admitted to Northside Atlanta because the contractions got worse and needed to have steroid shots for their lungs in case the boys came early. On August 11, the contractions went from every 20 minutes to every 5 minutes and then to every 3 minutes. Chelsea had to have an emergency cesarean section and was put to sleep and Sean was not able to be in the room during the surgery. Logan Kane was born at 12:34pm, weighed 2lbs 14oz, Gavin Carter was born at 12:34pm, weighed 2lbs 14.9oz, and Nolan Ryan was born at 12:35pm, weighed 1lb 13oz. Gavin was born with a level 4 brain bleed which healing itself. Nolan has a hemangioma on the back of his head which needs to be monitored by a neurosurgeon to make sure it does not grow into his brain. Nolan has to take a beta blocker medication to help make it smaller. Nolan also, needs to see a kidney doctor because they believe he has Bartter syndrome, a rare kidney disease, or kidney reflux because of his back to back UTIs. Logan is still having events meaning dropping his heart rate and he stops breathing. The doctors say he will grow out of it but for now Logan is on an apnea monitor at home and it goes off at least twice a day. The boys were in the NICU for 3 months. Gavin came home on November 6, Nolan came home on November 11, and Logan came home on November 14. Logan had to go back into the hospital November 16-18 because of his heart rate dropping.
