Lacey's Surgery

Dear friends and family (and anyone kind enough to take the time to read or share),

As many of you know, Lacey, my sister has been struggling with hip pain for over two years as a result of a Labrum Tear, Hip Impingement, and Hip Dysplasia. The combination of these issues has taken a severe toll on numerous aspects of her life. Currently, she can barely walk a city block without the need for rest. Driving has also proved to be a challenge as driving more than 40 minutes requires days of recovery. Lacey went from being physically able to do things such as kickboxing to days lost due to the pain of just walking. None of this touches on the mental health aspects of the loss of mobility. After meeting with medical professionals and undergoing various treatments, it has been advised the next and only remaining step is hip surgery to stop/reduce pain and increase her quality of life.

The surgery is scheduled for 01/23/23 and due to the complexity of the issues must be conducted in California. Though she has insurance, the cost of the surgery and related expenses is expected to be significant. Lacey will also have to be out of work for a minimum of 12 weeks, increasing the financial burden.

My goal is to ask for any help to go towards the medical expenses, travel expenses, and loss of wages. For those who don't know, Lacey has dedicated her life to being a counselor helping children overcome and deal with trauma. She consistently does whatever it requires to support those around her, regardless of the physical or mental pain it may cause. Getting back to those kiddos is a high priority for her. And having a sister struggling less in daily life is my biggest goal through this fundraiser. Every contribution is appreciated more than words could ever express.
