Julie’s Battle with Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hey all, I am Maria, Julie’s daughter. As most of you know my mom is battling stage 4 breast cancer.
Here’s a little update on where the journey is at. After a lumpectomy and mastectomy, mom started on a chemo pill which was accompanied by monthly injections and a PET scan every 3 months to monitor her progress. After about 9 months on the first chemo, we found the cancer had figured out how to fight that chemo and the cancer was getting worse. She decided to switch to a different chemo and see how that worked. This started about 3 months ago. Mom also started a new diet right around this time. She eats ZERO processed foods and sugar. Basically meat, vegetables, nuts/seeds and some fruit. By eliminating sugar this should help “starve” the cancer. Since starting the second chemo mom has experienced a severe increase in pain and weakness in her body. Finally it got to the point, about two weeks ago, that she decided to stop the chemo. The pain was too much and the quality of life was not there.
We have now decided to attack the cancer through a fully natural route. She is going to a new doctor who practices a less conventional, more natural route of treatment. As we all know, going the natural route generally means insurance will not cover much. There will be many new bills starting to roll in soon including gas, meals, hotels, etc that are necessary to see this doctor.
We know many of you have already supported my mom through donations and we are extremely grateful. We have been asked by some people to make another fundraiser so they can donate. If you are unable to donate, we just ask that you continue prayers for Julie and her family. We thank you so much for any and all support. May God bless you all. Know that we are praying for you too.
