Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him
and He will make your paths straight.
-Proverbs 3:5-6
In June, Krystil and Eric excitedly announced they would be expecting their first beautiful baby in January 2020!! During an ultrasound in August, they received news that the baby might have a heart issue, which a cardiologist later diagnosed as Tricuspid Stenosis, leading to Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. With this, the right tricuspid valve is present, but it’s not well developed which leads to the right ventricles being underdeveloped. The pulmonary arteries are a bit small, and doctors would like to see them get bigger, but the heart was found to be pumping well. Basically half the heart is working. They anticipate a surgery in the hospital after birth, with several weeks in the NICU. There will most likely be another surgery around 3-4 months, and then again around 3-4 years old. This procedure doesn’t really have a long-term prognosis because it was started in the 1980’s/90’s, but the doctor sees many children doing very well after the surgeries. Obviously, every child responds differently to surgery.
There are many of us that call Krystil and Eric our teacher, fellow actor, friend, coworker, choir and church friend, and family. As you know, Krystil and Eric have a strong faith in God and with His guidance are preparing to welcome this precious child, even though this journey will all look very different than they had planned. In Krystil’s words, “In no way does this change God’s goodness or the blessings of this baby!“
Krystil and Eric wonder about what this will entail for them financially. As you can imagine, a stay in the NICU and multiple surgeries will be very costly. They both will have to be in the hospital or at home with the baby longer than anticipated. We want to raise funds for them to use during this difficult time, so that they can focus on their little blessing. Let’s give back to two people who have given so much, and send them into the new year with a lighter financial burden.
We also ask that you keep Krystil, Eric, and Baby Irvin in your prayers!
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. –Ephesians 6:18
