Help a good man that had a terrible thing happen.

Hi, my name is Kelli, I am raising money for my friend Steve. He was assaulted by 3 guys, over 4th of July weekend, while he was sleeping. They didn't rob him... just hurt him. He has a skull fracture, a total of 43 staples for stab wounds in his head and arm, he lost his left ring finger and almost lost his thumb. He has a long road of recovery a head of him. He can't use his had at all for 8 weeks, and then we'll need physical therapy to get function back. He is currently uninsured, he was in between jobs, supposed to have started his new job the 5th, but was unable to start due to his injuries. The hospital didn't help at all, since it was a holiday weekend, no one was there apparently to help him get insurance set up, They discharged him on the 4th of July, with no where to go and a bunch of prescriptions to fill, knowing he didn't have any money and his head still bleeding. .. I filled his prescriptions and got him a hotel for a couple weeks, but I can afford to keep it up. I have been trying to help him get insurance set up and help him with a safe place to stay, but it has been difficult process. He had his follow up appointment with the hand surgeon, he had to get x rays and a splint for his hand costing a few hundred dollars. I am still sick over what these people did to a harmless man and at how hard it is to get him any help. Thank you in advance for any help we greatly appreciate it!
