Soma’s Surgery
My sweet 6 month old puppy Soma broke her femur on Sunday and hasn’t been able to walk since. The vet says she’s in a lot of pain and they need to do surgery as soon as possible because the break is on her knee joint. Because she’s still growing, getting it to heal on its own without the surgery would cause issues with that leg for the rest of her life. After learning that the surgery is going to cost upwards of $5,000 — I’m at a loss of what to do. I contacted multiple orthopedic surgeons and none of them accept payment plans. They only offer a line of credit and I was denied the loan request.
With the pandemic still spiraling and the holidays approaching, I can’t think of a worse time to ask people for help. I’m humbly asking for compassion of any kind because I don’t know what else to do. I will be eternally grateful to anyone who can donate or share this post and understanding to anyone who can’t. Soma is the best thing to happen to me this year and I just want to get her healed so she can continue to run around and cause a scene like any puppy should.
Any resources, tips, or personal experiences that could help me navigate this situation would also be extremely helpful. Thank you so much for reading this and I promise I will pay it forward in anyway I can.
All my love,
Katie
