3D Print 4 Healthcare Workers
Donation protected
TARGET 2: £1,500! Yet again we are overwhelmed by your generosity.
TAREGT 1: £1,000!!! Thank you all so much for your donations. We didnt ever expect to meet our initial target but your response has been amazing!
Hello Everyone!
As you’ll be aware, there is an ongoing shortage of medical PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) here in the UK. Every day, healthcare workers are putting their lives at risk to help those who need it most.
So… James Williamson, Alan Stuart, Luc Mathlin and our friends would like to help them in any way we can.
Across the UK, thousands of people within the 3D printing community are stepping up to help overcome the PPE shortage by producing Face Shields and distributing them to frontline medical workers. If you’d like to know more, feel free to have a read of this BBC NEWS ARTICLE .
We are a small team of 3D printing enthusiasts who have come together to help the ongoing effort by supporting groups such as the 3DCrowd UK who have already distributed hundreds of thousands of Face Shields (and counting)! So far, we’ve been printing Face Shield Frames none stop, using whatever materials we have left or can afford to buy in. As you can imagine, we’ve already used a lot of material in a short amount of time!
That’s where you come in…
In order to continue printing frames, we’ll need to purchase more material. Each spool of filament costs around £20 and can be used to print up to 20 frames (makes the math easy).
Your donations will be used to purchase more spools of filament so that our team of 3D printing enthusiasts can keep on printing into the foreseeable future.
If we're able to exceed our initial target, we'll be able to purchase additional 3D Printers to increase our production capacity. Once the PPE shortage ends, we'll donate the additional printers to local schools / clubs to help inspire the next generation of 3D printing enthusiasts.
We'll make sure to keep you updated with our progress along the way.
Thanks for your time and stay safe.
