Face Shield for NYPD and NY Frontline Workers
Donation protected
We are a local small 3D printing team in Brooklyn producing face shields to donate to hospitals and frontline workers to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, we are producing 500 face shields a day on our 100 printers and hoping to increase our production volume to meet the overwhelming needs of hospitals.
Any donation will help us achieve this goal by:
1. Retaining current employees and hiring recently unemployed workers in the five boroughs.
2. Expanding our manufacturing capacity.
3. Covering the cost of the materials needed to produce the face shields (PLA plastic for 3D printer, PETG sheet visor, elastic band)
We started our operation on Sunday (March 22) and delivered our first batch of 200 on Tuesday (March 24) to St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. We have been overwhelmed by the number of requests from other local hospitals for these face shields and seeking more funding to meet their needs. We are planning to deliver up to 1500 pieces this coming week and about 5000 pieces by the week after.
We will also donate 25% of our output to other frontline workers such as NYPD, home health aides and grocery store workers to keep everyone safe.
