3D Printing PPE for Amarillo Hospitals
We're currently in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Hospitals and clinics in the TX Panhandle are struggling to obtain and provide the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to their doctors in nurses to keep them safe while they keep our community safe from this virus.
The recommended minimum PPE for these doctors and nurses are an N95 mask and face shield/visor. Unfortunately, most of these items are manufactured in China and demand far exceeds the supply at the moment. To combat this supply and demand issue, a diverse group of people from the TX Panhandle decided we could help out by way of 3D printing face shields and masks.
We need help from our community to raise money ASAP to procure more 3D printers, printing materials, HEPA filters, elastic bands, and more to get the PPE manufactured and into the hands of the brave men and women who need them.
As the need for more PPE increases in the coming days/weeks, we'll need more help manufacturing, assembling, disinfecting, and fundraising. Please contact us if you have experience in 3D printing, using a hot glue gun and x-acto knife, or really anything you feel would be a benefit to help this cause.
We all know how urgent this need is, so I plead to our community to help...help however you can. Whether that means buying your own 3D printer to help manufacture, or donating $5 to this campaign. Everything helps.
Thank you!
