A loving family man, my father has always done his best to provide and care for his family. A hardworking individual since I can remember and someone always willing to lend a hand to any person in need. In the last five years he has been struggling financially as he became a single family income when my parents separated.
In September of 2019 my father was laid off from his 20yr position at Rent-A-Center after the company went under. He’s been working even harder since to keep up with bill payments. He would drive for Uber and Lyft night after night and in the mornings he would work at an Amazon warehouse. Unfortunately due to several underlying health conditions throughout the last couple of months and a recent case of Covid 19, he was forced to stay at home for nearly a month, unable to make a living and the debt kept piling up. As it stands, he is due to lose our home in the coming months unless he makes a substantial payment. I would do the best I could to help, but there’s only so much I could do working 40 hours a week and being a full time student going for my nursing degree. I pay my own college and any money that’s left goes to my dad. As previously mentioned, my father has always been a hardworking man who has never asked for any assistance. A self made entrepreneur from the young age of 14 who now finds himself helpless as he gets closer to retirement age. Seeking for donations is the last thing he would ever opt to do, for this reason I feel I need to do this for him. I understand everyone is facing their own hardships at the moment but if there’s anything you can spare, it may save the future of a man who deserves much more than what the cards have dealt him.
