Our family needs help!

My name is Mary Noble and I have set up this Go Fund Me for my son, Rusty— who was diagnosed with throat cancer—and for our family, as we are all under the same household and are now struggling to make ends meet.

Rusty is 37 years old with a beautiful family: Keira, his partner, Odyn, a 5 year old autistic boy, Remy, a 3 year old girl, and Cyri, who is 1.

Rusty began treatment June 22, 2024. He is doing radiation daily and chemo once a week. Due to his condition, he is unable to continue working. Keira takes care of the kids everyday while I am working full time, but living on one income is not easy—there is rent, electric bills, car payments, taxes, insurance, diapers, things to help Rusty be more comfortable, and the list goes on and on. We are now behind and cannot catch up.

Rusty has started two Go Fund Me’s in the past few weeks but deleted them. He recognizes people have their own busy lives, are dealing with problems of their own, and didn’t want others to feel sorry for him. At the same time, he has been feeling a lack of support and low self-esteem, fearing that no one cares.

This has not been easy, but Rusty is being a real trooper! If he loses 15 lbs he will be placed on a feeding tube. His weight is currently on the border line and fluctuates quickly, so it is not looking good. Currently he is only able to eat eggs and a nutritional protein drink. He has lost about 95% of his taste, his throat is getting dry, he coughs up red mucus, has a red mark where the radiation is being done and is losing the hair in the area as well. However, we are barely at the one month mark and this is nothing compared to what is coming. Please google the side effects of chemo and radiation to see for yourself. It’s not nice!

This will be our new normal for the next 6 months. Our hopes with this Go Fund Me are to get caught up on our bills and stay ahead as we navigate Rusty’s cancer. This will only be possible with help from others, prayers and sharing. Please share with family, friends, work places, churches, support groups, and any place you can think of. Anything and everything makes a difference!
