Heather’s Cancer Journey
Donation protected
In mid-October Heather found a lump in her breast. On November 2nd we got the news that she had two kinds of breast cancer. One was a fast growing aggressive cancer that is also in her lymph nodes.
Monday, Nov 14th Heather had a mastectomy - the surgery was successful, but she needs to undergo chemo and then radiation to ensure all the cancer is gone.
We just received word that the chemo treatment begins this week (12/20/23) and will continue for several months. There are so many unexpected costs that go along with the journey of cancer. It is beyond just the medical costs - which are substantial even with insurance - those pesky co-pays really add up! There's transportation costs, additional items needed around the house to make things comfortable, meals, and then unexpected things you never anticipate. We have had so many people reach out asking how they can help, this fundraiser is the best way to support us right now.
It’s been quite shocking and overwhelming. In the midst of it all, God is still so good. We keep seeing His hand in big ways providing us with the strength and peace for each day. We know His plans are good and He will see us through every battle we face…including cancer. Heather was making waffles for our family one Saturday, thinking through all of her worries and fears. The Lord stopped her and said, “You have yet to see how big I am. You have yet to see how I will provide for your needs and be your healer.” We’re holding to that hope and believing for God to do big things in the midst of our greatest fears. Will you believe with us?
Thanks for helping us during this season.
