Ashley's Fight Against TNBC

Dear Readers,
I am writing to share the story of my best friend Ashley McClanahan, who has been like a sister to me for the last 19 years. Ashley is a brave and wonderful mother of three young boys, who has been recently diagnosed with Stage 3C Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She received the news on January 24th, and immediately began her 6-month chemotherapy treatments on February 14th. She has a long road ahead of her, including a full mastectomy in September, followed by 28 rounds of radiation therapy, and continuing chemo into the foreseeable future in the hopes of achieving full remission.
Ashley and her loving husband Kyle chose Oregon, Ohio to raise their three boys; Colton (1 year), Grayson (2.5 years), and Landon (13 years).
After working full-time since she was 15, she found Fastrack Trucking, where she has worked for over 7 years now. She has built strong skills and relationships at her job, which she says makes her feel whole. Over the past year and a half, she has continued to work full time, all while being the primary caregiver for her father who had his own battle with prostate cancer. He passed away the day before she started chemo, so he won’t miss any of her appointments either.
To know Ashley is to love her. She is the person you can always count on to be there for you. Thoughtful, selfless, and caring are a few words that come to mind to describe her. She always makes you feel important and special with the little tokens that say she listens and knows you. Ashley is an incredibly strong woman who adores her children and goes above and beyond to be a great mom. Despite her cancer diagnosis and the challenges it has brought, she remains positive and determined to fight.
As her body struggles to keep up with the demands of her job and caring for her family she has come to the difficult realization that she needs to step back from full time work to focus on her health and her children. The financial burden of medical costs, prescriptions, and childcare, will soon start to overwhelm the family. As her friend, I know that Ashley rarely asks for help, but now she needs it more than ever. I’ve seen beautiful things happen when a community comes together to wrap their arms around those who need it most. With your support we can help alleviate the financial burden of medical treatments and daily living expenses.
Cancer can take so much from a family who has worked so diligently to build a beautiful life. Cancer cannot take love, generosity, and kindness. Please consider donating to this page, as it will immensely help her and her family through this challenging time. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and will make a significant difference in Ashley's life as she battles cancer and focuses on her recovery.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Let's show Ashley that she is not alone and that we are all in this fight with her.
