Ballistic Buddies

My name is Jessi Hewig and I’m a Veterinary Assistant at St Joe Veterinary Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.   In the 7 years that I’ve worked there I’ve worked closely with the K9s of the Vanderbugh County Sheriffs Department and local police.  I’ve come to respect several of the handlers and become very attached to their K9 partners.  They provide search and rescue services,  apprehend suspects and provide demonstrations for our local school children. 
With that being said, I had become aware that several of these hard working dogs did not have up to date protective vests to keep them safe while they do their jobs.  This was the start of my cause.  Since then over $15,000 has been raised to purchase vests for 25 dogs in 4 different states!  I am immensely overwhelmed by the constant support for this and all my thank you’s will never be enough.  Please continue to donate ANY amount of  money you can or please share this page to help protect the ones that protect us!  THANK YOU!
