Hello,First off, let me start by saying I have a really hard time asking for money. Even though I know it would help take a huge burden off our family (especially if we were not seeing our life savings crumbling before our eyes)- I still really have a hard time asking for help. There are so many of you that have asked what you can do from far away or if you don't cook,or don't watch children, so I wanted to provide a variety of options! Here is one, but please don't feel obligated to help in this way. So many of you have helped so much already, I don't want you to think this is another thing I am asking you to help with and please know how much I appreciate the help we've gotten already. This is just an option.On to my story: My name is Emily hauser, I have two children ages 3.5 and 1 years old. Anyway, 6 months ago while breastfeeding my daughter I noticed a painful lump in my right breast. I went to see a doctor who told me to heat and breast feed a lot over the weekend and if it didn't go away get an ultrasound. I dragged my heals a bit but did eventually get an ultrasound. From there I had a biopsy of 3 different tumors and two lymph nodes. The lymph nodes came back positive for cancer. One of the scariest moments of my life. I continued on with more tests, a pet scan, Ct scan and breast MRI. It had looked as though the cancer had stayed just in the breast area, which was much needed amazing news! At this point I was staged as a 2b/3a.Next up was starting chemotherapy. I was on a regimen of a/c treatments once every 2 weeks for 8 weeks (so 4 treatments total) and was very sick, nauseated and had the dreadful chemo brain while on it. It was awful. Next up was 12 weeks of taxol given weekly. This was not so bad and only drummed up a few muscle aches. I just recently stopped the chemotherapy three weeks ago. I then noticed some itching on my breast, I had a breast MRI and ultrasound, met with the surgeons to continue on the plan with surgery...until I mentioned the itching. They took an immediate biopsy of the spots and a few days later I was diagnosed with the all scary, most aggressive and most rare form of inflammatory breast cancer- this new diagnosis has now upgraded me to stage 3b. This has been a recent diagnosis and I've been put back on the a/c treatment for at least one maybe two cycles. Then I will have virtually no recovery from chemo and will go straight into surgery. For which help from my local troops will be a necessity. I know this is getting long, but I just have a couple more things to say, we are a one (and a half) income family home right now from my income- which I've had to take a lot of time off recently. My husband has been staying home with our children, taking care of me and putting his goals and needs on the back burner. Right now would not be a good time for him to go back to work full or even part time because he needs the flexibility to help our children and me, especially in the coming months with surgery and all. I have the most amazing support from family who help when they can as well, but I feel like the next few months the burden is just going to be so high. And I hate to throw pity parties and talk about our needs, but with my income alone, it doesn't quite cover all the bills, especially the new medical bills for this year.The other thing, if you can't think of a way to help us but would really like to, I wanted to give you the opportunity to. This is by no means asking for more hand outs, please only donate if our family is what you really really want to donate to.
