Help - Kerry Ann Collins

Donation protected
Kerry Ann Collins needs your help today. Kerry is a family friend, who on Friday, November 27, 2020, a gasoline cylinder exploded in her home. This tragic incident left Kerry in critical condition resulting from third-degree burns over her body (from her chest down). Currently, she is a patient at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), and while doctors’ there have done their best to assist her. The severity of Kerry’s burns is outside of their scope. And there is no Burn Unit in Jamaica to provide further assistance. KPH recommended that Kerry be transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, to receive the necessary treatments. We have contacted officials at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Kerry's treatment will cost US$773,000. Unfortunately, Jackson Memorial does not offer a payment plan for international patients; therefore, all monies must be paid upfront. Honestly, Kerry and her family cannot afford to flip this bill. Kerry is from Payne Land, one of Jamaica’s most vulnerable communities, stricken with gang violence and poverty. And while Kerry dreams of one day escaping this reality and works a full-time job as a factory clerk, her wages are barely above minimum wage (less than USD 50 per week). She has no insurance, and her mother, Delcita Anderson is doing the best that they can to support her. Kerry is only 23 years old! She still has her entire life ahead of her, but she is running out of time. Her situation is critical and every second that she goes without treatment diminishes her likelihood of survival. We know that 2020 has taken a physical, mental, and financial toll on all of us. However, We ask that you look beyond your current challenges and help Kerry. The truth is, anyone can give from a place of plenty, but "TRUE" giving often requires sacrifice. Here is how you can help: (1) Say a prayer for Kerry (2) Donate (no matter the size) (3) Share this link with five people. Any or all actions taken are appreciated. Many are doubting our ability to raise this hefty US$773K, but we believe there is power in the spirit of community, and together we can. This gofundme has been created by Kimika Lobban, a family friend who resides in South Florida, to help cover Kerry-Ann’s surgery/treatment at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Update: Since Kerry-Ann has passed away, all funds will be paid directly to her mother, Delcita Anderson to cover Kerry-Ann's current medical & funeral expenses.

PLEASE NOTE: All funds raised will be paid directly to the hospital for her treatment/surgery. Her sister and mother has agreed for Kimika Lobban to coordinate this fund.

God bless you.
