Hi, my name is Dawn Banks. I am reaching out on behalf of my sister Candida and her husband Bill Foust of 22 yrs. and their children.

Bill has been battling type one diabetes since 2009. In July 2023, a blister on his big toe became infected and septic. He had his toe removed. The infection worsened and also became Osteomyelitis - bone infection. Causing the remaining toes to also need removed. After months of antibiotic treatments the infections still worsened. leading to Bill having an emergency Trans-tibial amputation, in December 2023. While in the hospital Bill got a severe urinary tract infection and due to already having been warned of his kidney functions failing, things worsened for him. He went into acute Kidney failure. Since January of this year Bill has dialysis treatment three days a wk.

Bill was employed with IDA, Improved Dwellings Of Altoona, as a maintenance Mgr. after six months of being on short term disability and realizing that he would no longer be able to perform his duties they unfortunately had no choice but to lay him off.

Bill is now in the beginning process for getting his prosthetic leg. Sadly there are no Prosthetist in the area that would take his insurance. He was excited to find Union Orthotics in Johnstown and they have begun the process for a prosthetic leg.

Due to the decrease of income over the last year it has become difficult to keep up with the medical bills and home repairs.

Such as their roof leaking and causing water damage to the bathroom and kitchen. In addition to the prosthetic, Bill also needs entrance ramps and railings.

This is in believing for the Foust Family's journey. Filling their lives with Hope again.
