Mom’s Fight Against Cancer

On behalf of our entire Ohana we would just like to thank you for taking the time to read about our Wonderful Mother/Aunty Pai I and her current situation with her health.

Mom/Aunty Pai is a Mother of three, Grandmother of 12 and a Great-Grandmother to two.

For many years Mom/Aunty Pai was known for being a Crossing Guard at Mililani Waena Elementary School and most recently at Iroquois Point Elementary School before her Ohana moved to the Big Island in 2021.

She also worked at Mililani Theaters when they first opened and as a Teachers-Aide at Windward Nazarene.

Mom/Aunty Pai along with her Ohana have also been seasoned church members of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Mom/Aunty Pai is well-known for infectious personality and smile that would radiate to all who met her and continue to do so today.

Since her Ohana moved to the Big Island in 2021, Mom/Aunty Pai started to not feel her best and with some nudging from her family started to seek help with her concerns.

She began going to a variety of Doctors and Specialists in the middle of 2023.

During the numerous Doctors visits Mom/Aunty Pai needed a colonoscopy, CT scans, MRI, and bloodwork.

At the beginning of this year, 2024 it was confirmed that Mom/Aunty Pai was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

Mom/Aunty Pai is currently going through Chemotherapy at Queen’s Medical Center every other week and residing at the Cancer Center during her treatments.

Traveling back and forth from the Big Island to Oahu for her treatments has not only taken a toll on her physical health but also emotional and mental as well.

She is trying her best to be in good spirits and keeping the faith that everything will be okay because ultimately she just wants to enjoy life with the her Ohana and watch all of her Grandchildren grow up.

We are humbly asking for any Kokua during this time that will help to alleviate the increasing medical bills and travel expenses that are beginning to rise.
