Debbie Kirk rock the world in her power chair!

Have you ever met someone you *knew* was special the moment you saw them?
I have.
Debbie Kirk and I first met over a Zoom call (in the days of COVID). I'll never forget that moment. She had a bright, fighting spirit, a quick smile, and a fast heart that drew me in right away.
In fact, Debbie had a deeper story than I knew about.
It encompasses raising children as a single mother, an inherited clotting disorder, and a disaster one day that led to multiple ER visits, surgeries, and an eventual below-the-knee amputation that has robbed her of a chunk of her most beloved trait—independence.
Today, we're fundraising to help her get that back.
We're banding together as a family—we are Debbie's online, book-loving family—to get her a power chair. With it, she'll be able to go to the store and the doctor's office without relying on people to give her rides.
With this chair, she'll have the tools she needs to control her health, her day, and spend time with her beloved grandbabies. These grandbabies mean the world to her.
She's looking forward to going swimming again—where she feels the most at peace and normal. The prospect of taking herself to the store gives her a thrill—not to mention going on walks and to the park with her grandbabies!
$900 will cover the powerchair that will suit her best, and an additional $300 to have a ramp built into her house so the chair can go inside.
Anything raised over that will be donated to the NAMI foundation (National Alliance for Mental Illness).
Thank you for helping us give Debbie her independence back!
