Pareja Restaurant Initial Pop-Up
Donation protected
The Project:
Pareja will be a 6 month pop-up restaurant to establish, showcase and to finance the concept of a permanent location where young industry professionals can work with experienced staff and renowned chefs to learn and to grow as chefs, training to take on their own dream opportunities.
About Pareja (and Use of Funds):
While this is a very personal project for me, this is not an opportunity to see my name in lights. This project is about changing the food industry and the way that it cultivates new and innovative chefs.
I believe that it takes dedication and focus to be the best. Therefore, the primary reason for setting up this GoFundMe will be to offset startup costs in order to provide competitive salaries and hourly wages to our exceptional young chefs so they can focus on their craft. The money raised here will be used for initial labor, food costs, additional equipment costs, and other overhead costs for the first 2 weeks of operation. The goal is to have a fund large enough to launch the pop-up and allow us the flexibility to hire our exceptional staff and ability to comfortably get this new concept off the ground.
About the Food:
Taking a trip through Spain, Portual, the Basque region, and discovering the world’s influence on Spain’s food will be Pareja’s focus. Our chefs will present both classic and modern Spanish style dishes and flavors in a tapas and shareable plate format for our guests shared enjoyment. We will be playing with some science in the kitchen, presenting our dishes in intriguing and modern ways, all without losing the integrity of what makes Spanish cuisine incredible – its bold simplicity and its connection to the land, sea, and people of Spain.
About Chef Aaron:
When I first decided to start my career as a chef 16 years ago, I knew that I had a passion for food and for sharing my creations with others. However, what I didn’t know was that this career, industry, and group of professionals that I share my passion with is so much more than what I ever expected. The culture, the lifestyle, the stress, and the triumphs – they are all far more complex and rewarding than I ever imagined and I came to realize that I want to ensure others have the same chances to experience this amazing life.
While on the journey to become a chef, I have always had dreams of owning my own restaurant. I have traveled across the country and enjoyed the friendship and support of some of the most talented people the industry has ever seen. I have been blessed to work with many chefs and chef/owners who are living their dreams and exercising their passion for food by paying it forward to upcoming chefs like me by giving us the knowledge we will need both in and out of the kitchen.
Now, it is my turn to pay it forward and continue to change the industry for the better by creating environments where new chefs can learn from the best, where artists can create while still earning a livable wage to support their family and where opportunities are available for anyone with a passion for this industry. In order to do this, I believe that the first step is to create a pop-up restaurant that will be able to pay competitive wages to those involved in its success and propel this concept into a permanent brick and mortar location where we can begin to push boundaries and create change.
Anyone that has met me since I began this journey knows my passion for the restaurant industry, how it operates and the food that I can create. If you have any questions on my background or my creations, you can find me on social media:

The Ultimate Goal:
The Pareja pop-up is the first step in opening an innovative new restaurant in the Boston community. The success of this six-month project will enable us to showcase our food, skills, and creativity and also help us develop relationships with potential investors and clients. Through these relationships, as well as the profits from the project, we look to open Pareja as a permanent brick and mortar restaurant and to add to the eclectic scene in Boston with innovative food and opportunities for its residents.
