*CLOSED*Equine Rescue Relief Fund

The local Sheriff's Dept of Mercer County contacted my sister-in-law, Laura, KY Certified Animal Rescuer & Rehabilitor, to request that she foster 3 malnourished, neglected horses they had been asked to remove from poor living conditions.  Although Laura usually only hosts smaller animals, as a horse owner and lover, she agreed.  When the horses arrived it was clear they need much more than hay and affection. We are raising funds for hay, veterinary care, extensive farrier services, and much needed medications, both over the counter and prescriptions. Once these horses are healthy enough to be moved to a permanent home, (we are doing our best to make that happen) if there is any money left in this account, a little will go with each of them to help them get them off to a good start in their new home.  

This is Kentucky. Horse capital of the world.  We love our horses.  No matter how this situation came to be, we feel it is our duty to make it better, as best we can.

Please join us by donating your time, monetary funds, or hay if you have any to spare.  

In the coming days, as they gain a little strength, we will need to start looking for permanent / foster homes for them.  Laura's own horses have been booted out of their barn. Temporarily, that's okay, but soon they will need to return to their normal activities.  Please let us know if you are interested in fostering one or two, or all three of these beautiful creatures.  We need to make sure the next chapter of their lives is a good one.
