Miguel Mendoza "6th Man" Scholarship

Donation protected

The Miguel Mendoza "Sixth Man" Memorial Scholarship has been offered since 2010. Each year, we aide an Escalon High School student who we feel shares the character, the things we loved about our friend.

Miguel was not a valedictorian or a three sport starting athlete. He was, however, one of the top student athletes in his class while working multiple jobs to help support his family. Through his work ethic he became the first person his family to attend and graduate from college, Fresno State University with a degree in accounting.

Miguel also was the guy every coach could count on at game time. Whether on the hardwood or the diamond Miguel often was called upon to be game changer when the Cougars most needed it.

As a friend, he proved to be steady and loyal, loved to laugh it up with his buddies but, could be the voice of reason when those around him lacked it, and could always be counted on when a friend was needed.

In the past years we've aided several young EHS students to realize their dreams of going to college. While we do want to award good student athletes, special consideration is given to those who have had the additional challenge of needing to hold a job in addition to school and especially to those who may have overcome a challenge or difficulty in pursuit of their goals.

With your help we can continue to help more...
