Cindy Simpsons Medical Fund by HK

My sister Cindy Simpson was recently in to her doctor being treated for headaches that she has been having since March.  On Tuesday June 21, 2015 she was prescribed Singular for allergies.  The doctors were hoping that was part of the problem.  That night after she took the Singular she experienced a severe allergic reaction and had to go to the ER as her throat began to close.  At the ER the docotrs administered an epi shot.  Unfortunately, she had a bad reaction to that as well as lost her vision.  On Friday the 24th, after advice from a friend, Cindy decided to go to Iowa City for more opinions as her vision was decreasing.  After numerous tests they discovered she was allergic to the epi, but also that she had Venus Sinus Thrombosis, which is a blood clot in a vein on the back of the brain.  The two are completely unrelated so we are taking it as a blessing in disguise.  Without the vision loss the blood clot would not have been discovered.  She was hospitalized in Iowa City from Friday the 24th until Tuesday the 28th.  She is now at home recovering but still has minimal vision and doctors are unsure when it will return.   Cindy and her husband Dan have two young girls at home.  Cindy is unsure when she will be able to return to work at her job as a cake decorator at Larita's Cakes and Mores.  With one income bills are quickly piling up.  We are starting this page to try to help Cindy, Dan and the girls stay afloat as she waits to regain her vision.
