Hi everyone, thank you taking sometime out of your life to read this! As people are aware I just battled over a year with stage 4 cancer. I completed 45 rounds of radiation and 12 rounds of chemo. I am pleased to report I no longer have cancer on my spine or the lymph node in my groin area and also in my intestinal track. Due to the large amounts of radiation, I did have a lot of damage done to my intestine track which lead to another surgery Oct 07, 2022. This surgery left me with a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. Also I won't be able to get back to work for atleast 2 to 3 months.
Asking for help is one of the hardest things for me to do but I have to give in and swallow my pride. During my cancer treatments I used my medical EI and I don't have enough hours to collect it again. This is leaving us with only 1 income to live on, which will be a huge struggle and a very stressful time. I still have to meet up with my Doctors regarding my cancer as it can come back, plus other medical appointments in Kingston approximately an hour drive each way!
In addition to normal expenses I have to pay for the supplies for the colostomy bags and other medical requirements to keep it clean.
Normally I would have a creative way to help cover costs but this last surgery has left me lost and unprepared.
Thank you for your time and consideration of help or support!
