At Advance Electrical, we are coming together to support one of our team members and his hometown. The town of Cuitzeo located in the north of the Mexican state of Michoacán has been experiencing extreme violence from what is expected to be cartel activity. Residents are afraid to go out of their homes and the police and Mexican government are not addressing the massacres taking place. The media is even understating the severity of the incidents. Over 20 people have either been killed or injured in this town of less than 30,000 people in the last month. Of those people, family and friends of Tony have been murdered or injured. Tony’s cousin was murdered and left in the street last year and then in November a group of men with heavy-caliber weapons gun downed a large group of people killing his Nephew and putting three of his cousins in the hospital with life threatening gunshot wounds. People are being kidnapped and murdered. A women friend of Tony was found cut up in pieces and buried outside of their town. We take for granted the safety and security we have in the United States. This type of gruesome activity should not be tolerated, and we are asking for your support to help create awareness and move in a direction for people of Mexico to enjoy the same peace and security that we have. We also would like to support Tony’s town financially to help with funeral expenses and medical costs. Please considering donating and helping to spread this message.
