Help Spay and Neuter A Feral Cat Colony
Donation protected
We live in a very rural, wooded area. There are lots of feral cats living in these woods. We have a group of cats we've been feeding for a while, but haven't been able to get all of them spayed and neutered due to lack of funds.
Right now we have one adult female and one adult male who need to be fixed and seven kittens who will need neutering once they are old enough. I want to get the female done ASAP before she becomes pregnant again.
In order to get them neutered, we have to buy one or two traps because we are not able to capture them by hand. (We've tried.) Then we have to pay for the procedure, which costs from $40-60 at our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
We are unable to afford this ourselves because I am disabled and unable to hold a steady job and also receive no government assistance. We make just too much to qualify for low-income assistance for the neutering, and don't live in the right county for that assistance anyway. There are no feral cat organizations in our county that can help us, and I tried contacting one in the next county but they can't help.
Those kittens up there are cute, but we don't need any more of them. We've taken in three kittens in the last three years who were abandoned by their mother and hand-raised them. And the female ferals have a hard enough life without being constantly pregnant. We've lost two mother cats just this year. So please give whatever you can and we'll put it towards improving the quality of life for these cuties.
