Chris Carucci Medical/Recovery Fund

Chris Carucci - a longtime Riverdale businessman whose lifelong passion has been running his own jewelry store - was shot in the stomach on April 8 by two would-be thieves during a botched robbery.

Chris, who has four children, including a young son, pressed the panic button when he saw a gun and, even though they knew the cops were en route, the thugs shot Chris and fled without taking a single thing.

After two surgeries in two days, Chris is expected to be okay. However, medical bills are already mounting up and Chris won't be able to go back to work for some time - meaning his business will be shut down.

Chris has no safety net to fall back on in this devastating time. Always a hard worker, he depended on his unmatched salesmanship to provide for his family each week.
