Shipping to Ukraine

Hi, my name is Maryana and I am fundraising to cover shipping fees for care packages I myself put together for families with children, elderly, and disabled in Ukraine.

I live in LA for the past 2 years, and before that lived in NY for almost 20 years. I was born and raised in Lviv, Ukraine.

I work full time as a Registered Nurse with a local home health agency here in LA. I volunteer with several non-for profits assisting Ukraine as well.

My community and neighborhood in LA are very supportive of people in Ukraine and a lot of my neighbors offer items that can be used by families that were internally displaced from their home cities and hometowns due to bombings. Those items that my neighbors offer include diapers, baby clothes, baby formula, protein bars, OTC medications for children and elderly, adult diapers, toiletries (liners, tampons), sleeping bags, flashlights and lanterns, water purifiers, toys and school supplies etc.

I collect the items from the neighbors, sort them, pack them, load up my car and take the 65-70 Ib boxes to the shipping center in Glendale, CA.

Initially I planned on shipping a box every 1-2 month, however I receive enough item donations for 4-5-6 boxes a month. While shipping one box every 1-2 month was affordable for me, but to cover the rest I had to dive into my saving account. I’ve been doing so since the full scale invasion started (02-2022) until now. This is where your assistance is needed now: to help me pay for the shipping fees to Ukraine so I can continue shipping needed supplies.

The organization that I ship to is located in city of Bila Tserkva, Ukraine and they distribute to internally displaced families and families with children with special needs.

I am happy to provide shipping receipts to the donors and photo reports from the organization that distributes supplies that I ship.

A cost of one 65-70 Ib package ranges from $120 (by cargo ship and takes 2-3 month to reach Ukraine from LA) to $370 (by air, takes 2-3 weeks to reach Ukraine).
