Our very own Irving STEAM Magnet Middle School, is very proud to be sending the Irving BearBotikz VEX Robotics Teams to the VEX Robotics National Championship, in Counsel Bluffs, Iowa, and to the World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky. This is especially impressive , as this is their first season of competition, and second year with a robotics program. These kids have really worked hard, and have excelled in their teamwork.
Team #4863 "Kracken", recently won 1st place at the California state championship, qualifying them to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky, April 20-23.
Team #4863 B, "DSR-50", took 2nd place in the California state finals, which qualifys them to compete in the VEX Robotics National Championship in Counsel Bluffs, Iowa, April 6-9.
As you can imagine, travel expenses are steep, approximately $1200 per person. Some expenses will be covered by the school, but there is still a substantial shortfall. Any amount of help will be gratefully appreciated. These bright students are the future engineers of America, and it's important that we encourage them in this exciting endeavor.
GO BEARS!
