Marian's Liver Transplant
Donation protected
My sister, Marian Neuman turned 60 this past January. When she was in her early 30's she was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, (liver disease), curable only with a liver transplant. There is no answer as to how or why she got this disease. She is in stage 4 of the disease now. Her daughter Paula, volunteered for testing as a live donor a few months ago and was declared a match for her mom. Surgery is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2013. It is a few months sooner than we expected due to the lead surgeon leaving the hospital for a new position elsewhere, and that their surgery is a little more complex than some liver transplants. I have never asked for donations, but there will be expenses such as hospital co-pays and possible high co-pays on medications for anti rejection of the liver that insurance won't cover. Any donations would be graciously appreciated, including your thoughts and prayers on behalf of my sister and niece for a successful transplant and their speedy recovery. God Bless you all and Thank You
