Austin's Medical Expenses

Hello! My name is Sara, and I'm raising money for one of my good friends - Austin Lail, alongside our friend Cori. 

About a week and a half ago, he decked [took a fall to the ground] from about 40 feet high on the lead climbing wall at our gym. He landed on his feet, then onto his back. Miraculously, he managed to not break his heels. He did however break his lumbar 1 [L1] vertebrae. As a result, he had emergency spinal surgery to get the pressure off his spinal cord. They ended up fusing together T11-L3.

The surgery was successful, though he still has a long road ahead of him. He's been working to regain the ability to walk and wiggle his toes. He's currently in a rehab facility where he's making great progress.

I'm hoping to help him out a little and alleviate some of his financial burdens for him. All of the money raised will go towards his medical bills, and any assistive devices he'll need for the near future.

Hoping to give him one less thing to worry about and he can get back to doing what he loves!
