Support the White Family

On March 12th, what Mike thought was a bad, lingering respiratory infection that he had been treating at home took a terrible turn and landed him in the emergency room unable to walk. Upon arrival by ambulance he had dangerously low blood pressure, pneumonia, and sepsis. Doctors only gave him a 29.9% survival chance. Mike spent the next 12 days in ICU battling for his life while being intubated. Mike was able to fight and regain enough strength to come off the ventilator and eventually be moved out of ICU to an inpatient room where he continued to fight until he took his last breath on April 29th, 2024. In true Mike fashion, he tried to show courage in the face of fear and the unknown of what this challenge would do to he and his family. Everyone knew his road to recovery would be long and tough and he bravely gave it all he had. His medical team worked around the clock, not only to try to save his life, but to hopefully give his wife and kids a future. A future with their husband and dad to be able to cheer too loud on the sidelines or tell those all too corny dad jokes. His wife of 23 years, Pam, and children - Cooper, 14 and Katie, 10 - were the air that he breathed and the light that illuminated his path. Pam barely left Mike’s side and Cooper and Katie were at the hospital and at home taking care of the furry family member, Rocky. This unexpected life altering event has led the family to dip into their already lean savings, adding more worry about the bills on top of the worry about the steep hill of recovery and now the added grief for the loss of their husband and dad. The White’s are such selfless people and their giving nature has been a treasure to so many of us, that I hope we can surround them with the same unwavering support they would show if we were facing tough times. The Whites shower everyone around them with color and joy and I hope we can help their family weather this storm. These funds will help pay the exorbitant costs of intensive medical care, dialysis, hospital bills and final resting place expenses for Mike along with other household needs since Pam has also been off work during this time while being by Mike’s side and now grieving the loss of the love of her life and supporting her children through their grief of the loss of their Dad, their hero. Prayers are very much needed and appreciated. Any donations will be used for the already mentioned needs with any remaining amounts put towards a savings account to support Cooper and Katie's education and/or future endeavors. I know this is what Mike would want and how he would want his family and friends to honor his legacy.
