This is our fight

On the 1st September 2024 I was given a diagnosis that I had Acute Leukaemia (I call him ‘Luke) this is no doubt going to be the biggest fight I am ever going to have to face and for the first time in my life, instead of giving to others, I am asking for help.

As a self employed Mindset Coach, I have worked for years to build my business and brand and I am so proud of what I stand for. I have supported thousands of people through the power of my positivity and now I have to use that energy to focus on myself. Naturally I am a giver, I turned my passion in to my purpose and I truly believe my strong mindset and my faith in the power of positive thought is what is going to see me through.

My biggest worry right now as I write this from my hospital bed, is that my income is no more, my amazing partner, Jo, my soul mate, my rock, will be by my side every step of the way. She works part time in the charity sector and as she has been there for just over 12 months she is only entitled to a few weeks pay. Work for her right now is not something I want or need her worrying about but I know she will.

As most will know I became a Dad in 2021 after thinking it was never going to be an option in life, I was blessed with my beautiful boy Bertie. I already had the honour and privilege of being a step dad to Dougie and Betsy, who I love like my own. These 3 amazing little humans are going to play a massive part in getting me through this journey, without them even knowing.

I have to fight this for me, I have to fight this for them, I have so much more to give.

I have memories to make but before I can… I have a fight with Luke…
