Support Jorge's Fight Against Cancer

I'm trying to raise money to help with my husband's medical bills and bills at home as I have been missing a lot of work dealing with my husband's medical issues. Last month, my husband of 17 years and the father of my 3 youngest children was diagnosed with cancer. More specifically, Stage 3 Metastatic Seminoma that has spread through his abdomen and into his lymph nodes.

A few weeks ago, his back pain was so bad I had to take him to the ER in Monroe, where we were referred to Toledo Urology and told that it was likely cancer and that they would be scheduling a biopsy before starting chemo. Fast forward to last week, he woke up with his right leg very, very swollen. I rushed him to the emergency room at the Toledo Hospital, where he was diagnosed with DVT (blood clot) in his groin, likely caused by his cancer.

Yesterday, on September 23rd, we met with his oncologist, Dr. Macari, at his office in Sylvania, Ohio, on the campus of Promedica Flower Hospital, where we discussed his biopsy results and the immediate need to be hospitalized to start chemotherapy. Upon receiving bloodwork results from the morning oncology visit before admission, we were told that he was now suffering from very, very high creatinine levels and was basically in kidney failure and was not able to start receiving his much-needed chemotherapy regimen. Instead, an emergency catheter was placed, and he was taken down for hemodialysis.

Fast forward to today, after having been taken down for a 2 am CT scan to try and find the blockage, his creatinine levels were still very high, so he is currently down being treated with dialysis for the second day in a row. After speaking with the urologist team this morning, the likelihood of needing to have drainage tubes placed in his kidneys has been put on the table.

Jorge is a hardworking, fun-loving father to all 4 of our children, and we would be very appreciative of any help we can get as he cannot work, and I am losing many hours at work right now to help take care of him during this difficult time for our family, as well as caring for our young children, getting them back and forth to school and extracurriculars, and running back and forth between Michigan and Ohio to be at the hospital with him.
