Sequel's Relay Race-Children withCancer
Donation protected
Dear Family and
Friends:
On August 11th, 2013, I will be participating in the GUESS and Gc Watches Time to Give Relay Race Challenge benefiting the Elpida Association of Friends of Children with Cancer.
My goal is to raise $300 for the charity. This money will support the purchase of a portable cardiac ultrasound machine. A portable machine is needed to allow children in the oncology unit to receive bed-side cardiac evaluations. Bed-side evaluations limit the children's exposure to outside environments which helps minimize their risk of exposure to infection.
Elpida Association of Friends of Children with Cancer is located in Athens, Greece and was founded in the early 1990s by a group of women to meet the medical needs of children with cancer who needed bone marrow transplants. In the thirty years since its founding, Elpida has privately raised money to establish:
· The first Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Greece
· A 30 room Guest House where children and their families can stay during treatment and is staffed by professional nurses, social workers and psychologists
· In October 2010 the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA Children's Oncology Unit.
This is a great event for a great cause that I hope you that can donate to support me.
Run, Walk or Crawl I will finish the race!
Thank you!
Dorothy
