Urgent help is needed, as the rainy season is up on us there is much help and assistance needed, We have built trust and reputation within our community trough several campaigns and once more seek your assistance in order to help the IDP in Tigray that are eagerly wating our help
Up until a couple of months ago, the people of Tigray lived in peace. They enjoyed the peace of their villages, with ready access to food, and water, along with medical attention were they to need it. Abiy Ahmed shattered that peace when he declared war, sending professional soldiers and para militia to the very homes of many Tigrayans, displacing them and triggering a humanitarian catastrophe.
As of the time of writing, an estimated 60,000 civilians have been forced to flee for their lives, leaving all but the clothes on their backs in desperate search of refuge away from the invading soldiers, finding themselves in nearby Sudan. Beyond the sheer material loss and the severe disruption of their way of life, what is even worse are the disturbing reports that are emerging, including stories of wanton killings by soldiers and machete attacks by mobs. Many will have to live the rest of their lives with the mental trauma of having witnessed their friends, families and neighbours be brutalized before their eyes.
Everyday, 4000 men, women and children are streaming into Sudan. The UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric has stated that the refugee camps are already struggling to provide foodstuff, medical supplies and overall shelter to the ever increasing numbers, to the point where people are sleeping out in the open. The situation will only worsen in the coming week, with estimates of camps soon being expected to house 200,000.
It is not by choice that people become refugees. But for those who have had the choice made for them by war, we can choose to help, to make a difference in ensuring that families who have nothing be provided with something to eat and somewhere to rest.
The purpose of this campaign is to gather money for supplies. Volunteers are signing up to go and help their fellow countrymen in Sudan. They will cover their own travel expenses, but we need your help in buying supplies for the refugees! Every dollar counts.
Thank you for your solidarity and support, and please share this campaign with your family, friends, and on your social media platforms!
