Guinness World Record for Hidradenitis Suppurativa Treatment

My name is Bartek Holda. I am a physiotherapist by profession and a sports enthusiast, but most importantly, I am a father. I am undertaking this challenge for my incredible daughter, Dominika, and all the brave people living with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), a debilitating, lifelong, recurring and painful disease that impacts both physical and mental health. My goal is to raise awareness, to encourage medical professionals to take this disease more seriously, and to advocate for policymakers to improve support for patients with HS.

HS is a long-term, chronic condition that often leaves those affected in both physical and emotional pain, with very few people in their work or social environments truly understanding how much they endure. Simple activities most of us take for granted, like exercising or even wearing certain clothing, can be extremely challenging. The disease affects visible areas of the body, which can lead to fear, embarrassment, and isolation. My daughter has battled this condition since she was 12 years old, and I am beyond proud of her resilience.

As a parent, watching my daughter suffer has been absolutely devastating. The feeling of being unable to help your child, knowing that no matter what you do, you cannot take away their pain, is heartbreaking. There were times it made me cry like a baby. Yet despite everything, she has never allowed HS to define or limit her. She pushed through years of pain and emotional strain, completed her education, and became a lawyer. She never used HS as an excuse and continues to face each day with strength and determination. She is my absolute heroine.

Now 26 years old, her fight continues, but so does her unwavering spirit. Her birthday, on the 30th of September, will mark the third day of my fundraising challenge: an attempt to set a Guinness World Record by completing 23 Olympic-distance triathlons in one week, totaling 21.44 mile (34.5 km/ 1380 laps) swim, 571.78 mile (920 km) bike and 142.94 mile (230 km) run. Honestly, this physical challenge is nothing compared to the strength she has shown over the 14 years since her diagnosis.

I am doing this for her, to honor her courage, and to raise awareness for all those like her who fight this battle every day. With your support, donations raised will go to a charity or organization dedicated to helping those with Hidradenitis Suppurativa and advancing treatment options. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those suffering from this disease and help push for better medical care and understanding.
