UPDATE: The family is now getting surprise bills from the hospital, despite them showing proof of insurance. Additionally, they were billed for receiving "counseling services" that were not provided. As a school teacher, she was only given 20 days of bereavement and had used all of her sick time when birthing her twins. As you can imagine, this has created financial hardship for their family. For any of you who read this and have the means to help, please know even the smallest amount can have a positive impact for this family as Bettina and Jeff have to anticipate missing additional while the case proceeds. Thank you for your compassion and empathy.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I set up this account. Please know I have written and rewritten this statement countless times as I feel like I can never fully do this family justice. If you are looking at this account through word of mouth, thank you. If you are looking at this account because you have the honor of knowing this family, please know I feel the same inconsolable heartbreak you're experiencing.

Bettina Curl and husband, Jeff, are two of the most amazing people I have the honor of knowing and have experienced everyones’ worst living nightmare. Their family of five has suffered the loss of one of their twin babies, Anders, at the young age of 11 months after an incident at daycare and they are at a loss of how to move forward. Both Jeff and Bettina are incredible parents and are now left with the tragic reality of how to move forward raising their two children while finding a way to maintain an income. Bettina has been my teaching partner and rock for years, and her husband, Jeff, has also been a main support for me as well. Again, for those who don’t know these people, I have no amount of words to describe how amazing they are.

I understand that everyone has a different budget or amount of money they are able to donate. Please know all donations will go directly to the family to help them navigate through their new reality. Any amount of donation helps, and please spread the word to anyone you may know who would be able to help this family in this absolutely horrendous time.
