Support for Lyle

By now some of you may or may not know that my younger brother Lyle gave us a real scare Saturday night. He was doing what he loves, playing hockey, when he went into cardiac arrest. Luckily his team mates acted quickly by preforming CPR right away and ran to grab an AED. We are beyond thankful for these individuals who saved his life and gave us a second chance at life with him! They are truly Lyles angels!
Lyle is currently in the Cardiac Care Unit at a hospital in Edmonton and has undergone multiple tests since he’s been there. So far all of these tests are offering no reason as to why this happened or what caused this event. The doctors are pleased with his progress and he’s doing well but it’s been hard to wrap our heads around why this happened to a young, active and otherwise healthy 33 year old guy.
Lyle is going to have a long road to recovery ahead of him. He has been told that he will need an external defibrillator device of some sort going forward. He’s scheduled to have that procedure on this coming Tuesday. The doctors have informed Lyle that as a result of this device being installed that he won’t be able to continue to work in his trade of welding. When he’s completed his period of recovery and is cleared to work again, he will have to search for work in another field.
We have been getting so many kind messages from people asking how they can help and we have decided to set up this donation to help with costs of any medical related bills and loss of wages. Any little bit helps, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support.
I want to personally thank everyone on behalf of our family! All of the well wishes, text messages, phone calls that we have been getting over the last couple days has been heart warming. Your love and support has been uplifting in such a stressful time.
