Please Help Luis Garnica and Family

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jayson Siegel.  I am a bus operator for Suffolk County Transit on Long Island, New York, and I've been doing so for about five years.  In these years I've been acquainted with some outstanding individuals, and I don't believe there is a better team than the one I'm a part of now.  Out of all these individuals, there is one that I became "amigos" with the fastest.  His name is Luis Garnica.

Unfortunately, on September 30th, 2015, while doing overtime covering for another driver, Luis was involved in an extremely horrific and heart breaking crash while operating the bus.  This was published in many local papers but I don't believe it got enough attention

While he was fortunate enough to survive the crash, his "serious leg injury" is much more than that.  Luis did everything possible to avoid the crash, and avoid contact with the other vehicle, but it was an impossible inevitability.  It is still unknown if he will be able to drive again, which has been his life's passion and work for over 10 years.

Being that he has been in the hospital and had numerous surgeries ever since the crash, the mountain of medical bills, mortgage payments, home expenses, miscellaneous expenses and expenses for his children falls on his wife, and seems increasingly harder and harder to climb with each day that passes.

When I visit and speak to him, he only talks about getting back to work; which he loves, and taking the stress off of his wife, whom he also loves.

The money donated is for all things mentioned above, for a man who serves the public each and every day, and safely transports thousands of individuals to their destinations.  Your donation helps me to help him reach his destination of getting better, and motivates me as well to continue to work each and every day to only try to continue my job even as half as well as he does.

Your support means the world to me, as I can help my dear friend and partner, or "compañero " as he would say, because we often work the same days and trips together, and it means a lot to our county's transit system to serve the public and have him back on the road.

thank you

While the photo has changed the severity of the accident tradgedy and injuries to all involved remains the same.
